Jerad Forsyth and Kat Woodley met on a blind date and fell in love almost immediately. Jerad planned to propose to Kat after two years together, and he wanted it to be unique. Fortunately, the couple planned to adopt a kitten from a local shelter, and Jerad recognized this as his chance.
Jerad went to the shelter and adopted an adorable gray kitten named Gandalf. He also called the Erie County SPCA and told them his plan, and they were happy to help.
Jerad had to go to work, so Kat went to the Erie County SPCA by herself to adopt the cat. What she didn’t know was that her partner was organizing a surprise proposal for her at the SPCA.
“I was taken aback… They brought [a cat] to me with the request that I read the tag. “I thought Jerad’s aunt purchased us the name badge because she works at the SPCA,” Kat told Metro.
Kat was taken aback when she read the tag around the kitty’s collar, which said, “Will you marry me?” Jerad appeared the following second, dressed in a suit and kneeling to propose to her.
Kat was so happy and said ‘yes’ to Jerad and the kitten. SPCA captured the whole thing in a video and it instantly went viral.
