Achilles is a 2-year-old tabby cat that enjoys imitating his mother, Stephanie Isidro, an artist. Achilles began memorizing her morning ritual when he was approximately a year old, according to Isidro.

“He’s extremely brilliant at observing what I do and picking up on my daily habits and routines,” Isidro told The Dodo.

His obsession with cleaning his teeth is one of his most peculiar behaviors. He frequently wakes up at 5 a.m. and accompanies his mother into the bathroom. He then sits on the counter and observes his mother brushing her teeth. “He just sits there watching me,” Isidro said.

Then Isidro’s sister paid her a visit and placed their toothbrushes in the holder. Achilles sprang up the counter as soon as he saw the new toothbrush and began brushing his pearly whites. The cat has apparently been waiting for the chance to acquire his own toothbrush.

“I was brushing my teeth in the morning when I spotted Achilles imitating me with my sister’s toothbrush.” I was surprised that he used the toothbrush at first, but then I understood how smart he was to figure it out on his own. He’s quite bright!”

When Isidro bought additional toothbrushes for her visiting sisters, the cunning cat began doing this more frequently. Isidro recalls, “I even started keeping an extra toothbrush out just for him.”

Achilles appears to believe he is human since he frequently acts like his mother. Isidro describes him as a “mini-me.” “If I go to bed, he’ll go to bed, and he’ll nap when I nap.” He even sleeps with his belly up and tucks himself beneath the blankets, just like me.”
