This man never considered himself a cat lover. But everything changed when a small furball burst into his life.
Meet Nala and her human dad!
In Aklan, Philippines, Mark Nelson discovered a little motherless kitten.
“I went over to a neighbor’s house and his kid started telling me about two dogs on the beach attacking several kittens,” Mark recalls.
She chased the dogs away as quickly as she could, but only one of the cubs was still alive. He took off.
“When I asked her to show me where it happened, she led me to a public beach that was overrun with wild coconut palms. It took me a long to discover the kitten because it was already dark, but suddenly I heard a meow.”
He waited on the shore for many hours, expecting to spot the mother cat, but there were no indicators of her existence.
“I wrapped Nala in a towel and carried her over to my other neighbor, who had just reared a kitten.” She gave me an old box and some kitten food, as well as feeding advice. “Then we got home, and my first night as a cat parent started,” Mark adds.
Because this was the man’s first time caring for a newborn, he recruited the help of friends who were more experienced in this area.
“I never would have guessed you needed to know that much!” From selecting the proper diet, seeing the veterinarian, and toileting, to cleaning the coat and treating parasites, everything is covered. “You should also provide a comfy bed and a space to play, but don’t forget to show your love every second,” the father adds.
Nala is now an 8-week-old kitten who has had her first immunizations and has been treated for worms. The little girl has adjusted well to solid meals and is in a happy, cheerful attitude.
“Whenever I’m around, I try to play with her as much as possible, and she always makes me smile.” I wake up in the morning to Nala licking and lightly biting my ears. She also enjoys falling asleep on my chest or shoulders. It’s fantastic!”
“I never saw myself as a cat person, but baby Nala has entirely changed my mind on pets.”

Nala has grown up and turned into a beautiful lady!
