Alexa Elliot, a volunteer rescue worker from Little Wanderers NYC, is in charge of the cat commune near her house, feeding, housing, and neutering/neutering the cats.
A wild cat emerged in her backyard one day, twirling a ginger kitten around it. The cat left the kitten on the porch, where there was food, as if relinquishing the powers of upbringing.
“The kitten looked about six weeks old. He was curious, calm and not in the least aggressive. He was different from other wild kittens, ”says Alexa.
Every day, the ginger kitty returned, first for a snack, then for lunch, and ran around the yard as if it were his playground. He kept his distance from Alexa while expressing interest in her.
“I started the operation to catch him, and it took me a few of days because he’s so trusting.”
Then, to relax and settle down, a kitten named Yol was brought into the house and placed in a playpen. At first, he was shy and tried to hide, because he had never had contact with people before.
He became more receptive to encouragement and delicious meals.
Alexa gave the kitty a warm bath and medicated his slightly irritated eye. When Yol was wrapped in a towel like a little shawarma, he relaxed and felt at ease.
The striped youngster eventually relaxed after being held and caressed several times and began to frolic madly.
Yol’s energy was channeled through a key, which he unleashed, causing him to race about the home and pounce on toys. He was relieved to find himself in a warm environment with cozy beds and plenty of snacks.
Realizing how nice it is to be on the pens, he got consumed with the need for the attention of his people.
In a matter of days, Yol threw away the savage isolation and became sociable, contented, loving.
The cat got into the house of its dreams due to the animal rights group Little Wanderers NYC. In time for the holidays, he was adopted by a huge family.
“Just three weeks ago, he was a homeless man running around the Bronx streets, but look at him now!” He found himself a permanent family, in which there are numerous cats, doggies and two-legged companions, ”the animal rights activists explain.
Yol spends his first winter with his family. He adores new friends, enjoys running around the house with them and generally enjoys life.
Alexa continues to look after the local cat population, building warm cat shelters and feeding them on a daily basis.
It took the combined efforts of many individuals, but because to Little Wanderers NYC’s collaboration, little Yol will no longer be homeless.
“We feel like we hit the jackpot! He is safe and happy in the circle of (new) sisters and brothers, ”says the current owner of the kitten.
