Jill Mardesich and her fiancé went to Anne Arundel County Animal Care and Control in search of a new companion for their feline, Penny. When they turned to look around, one cat caught their eye.

“I had the pleasure of meeting Lucky Bear. “I have never encountered somebody more lovely and gentle, despite the fact that he was born without sight,” Jill writes.

Mishka-Lucky, a two-year-old ginger cat, and his closest friend, Pumbaa, a four-month-old kitten, came to the shelter last month when their family was unable to adequately care for them.

Their former owner surrendered them to the orphanage in the hopes of providing them with a better life.

Mishka-Lucky, despite his blindness, does not believe he is any different from others. He had never had eyes and had never known anything else. He instantly proved to everyone that he was the cuddling master on the first day of his arrival.

Mishka-Lucky was already cuddling guests and employees the next day. Jill was extremely enchanted when she encountered a red-haired man who effortlessly slipped into her arms.

Pumbaa hopped onto her shoulder as they hugged, as if to say, “And don’t forget about me.”

Jill couldn’t say no to two adoring furry companions. It was clear from the start that they had a particular bond.

Pumbaa is the Lucky Bear’s companion and follows him about everywhere he goes. When the kitty goes to feed, he is followed by his friend. “Pumbaa does a great job of orienting him to the terrain,” Jill explains.

A kitten reared with a blind companion appears to understand exactly what he requires and desires. Lucky Bear was born without eyes, and Pumbaa took over the role of his eyes. They are complementary to one another.

They both relocated to a new house last week and settled in immediately.

“I eventually got them home [last] Wednesday, and they all seem to get along,” Jill says.

Since the day they came, Lucky (redhead) and Caron (striped) have been embracing their foster parents. They love their new home and are delighted to have Penny as a new sibling.

The groom and the bride came to the orphanage to choose a cat, but in the end they were chosen by a couple of furry friends.
