The grateful mother cat realized she couldn’t sleep just yet after her two kittens were found and saved in Port Coquitlam.
She was the only one who knew their location and that they even existed, so she realized she had to bring her other babies to safety as well.
The mother pleaded her rescuer to allow her back outside again until she finally got her wish.
Once outside, the cat rushed back to the carport where she and her two kittens had been found. She went inside and then came back out with a tiny kitten in her mouth.
She then made four more trips until all five of her remaining kittens had been retrieved.
After all the babies were found, VOKRA, the Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association, was called, and they were glad to assist the family.
One of the kittens required medical treatment since part of his rear limb was missing.
The kitten’s foster home was able to provide him with the necessary care despite the infection in his leg thanks to the assistance of VOKRA.
His small limb was submerged in a healing fluid as part of the procedure.
Along with the pirate-sounding moniker “Long John Silver,” he was also not given a matching wooden peg leg.
Despite his bum leg, the little kitten was as happy as his siblings and happily practised running around on all threes.
Nothing can stop a happy and energetic little kitten, after all.
Mommy of the kittens was also content since she could now relax and enjoy her time with her children without having to worry about their health.
It had paid off for her to fight so hard for them.
The mother, known as Sassie, had shown herself to be a true hero.
She succeeded in providing each of her kittens a happy life while leaving no guy behind.
One of the strongest forces on earth is a mother’s love.
