A 6-week-old kitten was found frozen in a Los Angeles animal shelter. He couldn’t stand or walk, so he sat in his cage, hoping someone would come to his rescue.
When a woman saw this kitten, she knew she had to help.
Casey Christopher, a photographer and volunteer from Milo’s Sanctuary in Burbank, California, paid a visit to the cat sanctuary in late July. She resolved to act right away after knowing of our hero’s destiny.
“Casey contacted us and told us about the kitten and asked us to adopt her,” says Milo’s Sanctuary’s Michelle. “We agreed and made an appointment for him to see the vet right away.”
The workers at the shelter initially suspected the baby had a pelvic fracture. However, it was only after a thorough examination that the specific cause of his immobility was discovered.
“The doctor diagnosed a fracture of the femoral head and a torn tendon. To inflict such an injury on an animal, you need to hit it with a blunt object, for example, a stone or a leg, with force, ”continues Michel.
“Unfortunately, we have experienced this many times before: many of the cats that came under our care were victims of human abuse.”
The new ward was given the moniker Maverick by the rescuers (English: dissident). They were adamant about getting him back on his feet, giving him a wonderful life and a loving family that he deserved.
It’s terrifying to consider what this fur ball has been through. Despite this, he was constantly cheerful, purred, and eagerly hugged people.
Maverick’s paw has been successfully operated on until this point. “The condition, according to the specialists, is not hopeless provided the tendon recovers properly. “The vet assured me that everything was under control,” Michel says.
The fluffy kid turned out to be a genuine fighter, and he owes his rescuers a huge debt of gratitude. He starts purring and even requests to be caressed whenever he sees the vet.
“He’s just adorable.” He is attempting to play, but so far has been unsuccessful due to his lack of mobility. Few people totally recover from such damage, but we think Maverick will be one of the lucky ones.”
The brave cat is currently on the mend and eagerly anticipates being able to walk and run once more. He’ll become someone’s pet and a fantastic friend one day. Its next owners will be fortunate!
