I’m positive there isn’t a checkbox to certify there aren’t any stowaways when renting a moving truck. Critters can hide in the engine compartment, dashboard, and wheel wells. But, given the large size and many hiding spots available for interested felines, is that check box really necessary? Because a Pennsylvania guy got more than he bargained for when he drove a U-Haul for a 20-hour round trip.

The automobile had been hired for a trip to Indiana by Stephen Lang of Middleburg, Pennsylvania. They stopped at a local supermarket while he, his fiancée Micaela Silva, and their newborn daughter Aspen prepared for their journey. They started hearing worried meowing sounds from close at this point. They refused to leave without locating the animal since the family fosters for a shelter and Micaela is a vet tech.

Finally, they discovered a little female tabby cat lurking in the wheel well of their moving truck! She was tucked down behind the vehicle’s spare tire, just out of reach.

They did everything they could to save the kitten while a thunderstorm raged overhead.

It took three hours to get the cat to safety! However, they were only initially successful.

Until the tiny child escaped their grasp and fled behind a nearby gas tank! Stephen, not ready to let up, was able to grab the kitten a second time. He hurriedly boarded the moving vehicle, where the kitten would be safer.

That is until the cunning kitty crept inside the truck’s dashboard and vanished.
“She started biting me and becoming wiggly,” Lang explained as he helped her into the truck’s cab. “Like a mouse, she slid out from beneath my arm and raced directly into the dashboard.”

However, the kitten was now in a position that was not life-threatening; at least not yet. Stephen, on the other hand, had a great idea. When they got home, they parked the moving truck in their garage, where the kitten could be seduced by their domestic cats. To attract him, he even tried to play YouTube recordings of meowing cats.

However, nothing worked and the cat remained trapped under the dashboard.

However, they still had to go on their journey! And after the little girl was confined to her new location, she spoke out loud about her dissatisfaction. The melody of their road trip was horrible melancholy, which broke hearts.

“It was approximately 20 hours of travel and about 10 hours was just cat sounds,” Lang said. “It was a disaster.”

The feline-infused air “freshener” pervaded the air for the final 5 hours of the journey. Later, Lang told reporters that he intended to take severe steps in order to free the captive soul.

Lang stated he was so anxious about the cat that he was considering rescuing it with a tiny saw from the dashboard.

However, the organization for which he nurtures came to his aid, assembling a specialized team to assist him. The cat was ultimately rescued from the truck by the mechanics at Chevrolet Cadillac of Bloomsburg.

He rescued the terrified cat under the watchful eyes of the entire dealership, which had joined the rescue mission. I’m sure everyone involved was overjoyed and relieved.

The kitten was plainly dehydrated following the lengthy journey, so Lang immediately scheduled an appointment with a veterinarian.

Despite the fact that she has yet to be given a name, the dealership staff is cheering for “Dash.” For the time being, she is resting comfortably at their foster home under the cautious observation of Stephen and Micaela.

“They’ll also be on the hook for the cost at the dealership, though Lang claims they gave him a good bargain on the work.”
