Кitten Left Вehind In Flowerpot, Вounces Вack Оn Нer Рaws Аnd Вlossoms Тhrough Кindness Оf Рeople

A palm-sized kitten was found left behind in a flowerpot. She bounced back and began to thrive with the help of kind people.

Little Wanderers NYC, an all-volunteer rescue based in New York, received an urgent request (in late December) about a newborn kitten needing rescue. “The neonate was left in a potted plant in the entryway of a resident’s home in Woodhaven, Queens,” Little Wanderers NYC shared.

The kind person who found the kitten, looked around the area but couldn’t locate the cat mom or other kittens. Olivia, the database manager of Little Wanderers, sprang into action and rushed to get the kitten into the care of an experienced bottle feeder.

The kitten hadn’t been cleaned by the mother, which led rescuers to believe that she left the baby right after birth and never returned. “We’ve named this little survivor Tiny Tim (at the time they thought the kitten was a boy), and the kitten is surprisingly strong.”

The gray kitten was about 48 hours old and very hungry, but had a mighty will to live. Upon arrival at the rescue, the kitten showed incredible fighting spirit by latching onto the bottle like there was no tomorrow.

Being just pint-sized, the kitten needed a constant heat source (in a cozy incubator) and to be fed every 1-2 hours around the clock.

Angela Yu, a foster volunteer of the rescue, took on the neonate at three days old. The kitten was struggling with stomach issues and there were times when Angela wasn’t sure if the little feline would make it.

Angela took it one day at a time and followed a strict and intense feeding protocol with supportive care. After many sleepless nights, the little fighter bounced back and perked up. Angela could breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the kitten was going to be OK.

When the kitten got bigger, they discovered that she was in fact a girl, but the name stuck.

“I’ve been calling her Tiny. She would scream her head off every time I washed her behind. It showed me that she had the strength and wanted to live,” Angela shared with us.

Tiny hit one milestone after another and never ceased to amaze her foster mom with what she could do. She learned to eat from a dish all by herself, and her personality came out in full swing.

“She’s managed to jump out of her play pen multiple times so she now gets full run of my home,” Angela told us. “Tiny thinks everything is a toy and everyone wants to play with her.”

The rambunctious little kitten is constantly on the lookout for mischief. She enjoys playing “tag” with her foster mom while creating all sorts of antics along the way. She follows her human everywhere she goes and fills the house with endless entertainment.

“I think the only time she (truly) sleeps is when I go to bed,” Angela added.

Tiny has come a long way since she was found in a flowerpot. She’s blossomed into a beautiful teenage cat and is as healthy as can be.

“When she was only two days old, we weren’t sure if she’d make it. But she’s had the best fostering an orphaned kitten could ever want, thanks to Angela,” Little Wanderers said.

Little Wanderers NYC is looking for more foster volunteers in New York City to help cats and kittens in need and give them a fighting chance.

“This kitten season promises to be record breaking with an explosion of kittens like we’ve never seen,” Little Wanderers NYC shared.

Tiny continues to steal hearts with her larger-than-life personality and her sweet and charming smile.

The flowerpot kitten is thriving in foster care and doesn’t have a worry in the world.
