Two kittens who were found at a mobile home park crying for help, now can’t get enough of each other.
Early October, two kittens were found at a mobile home park in Florida when a Good Samaritan heard their cries. “After closely monitoring, and no sign of the mother cat returning, they reached out for help,” Allison Ilcken, a foster volunteer of Animal Luvrs Dream Rescue, told us.
A fellow volunteer, Nadija of Tiny Paws Fosters, stepped up to provide assistance as the kittens needed round-the-clock bottle feedings and lots of TLC.
She got them all cleaned up and their bellies filled with good food. The feline sisters finally settled in their cozy, warm nest and fell asleep cuddling with each other.
The two kittens, Lexi and Amelia, were born with nubby tails. After 48 hours of adjusting to being hand-reared by a human, they turned into wonderful bottle kittens and their personalities started to emerge.
They were so pleased to have a caretaker to cater to their needs and started to put on weight.
From the start, Lexi and Amelia were like two peas in a pod, doing everything together. If one of them wandered off, the other would seek her out.
After a couple of weeks of indoor life, the kittens had grown by leaps and bounds. They were itching to explore their surroundings together and put their legs to good use. Allison took over the foster duties and welcomed the pair into her care.
“They are now both over a pound, eating gruel and doing fantastic,” Allison shared with us.
“They are ridiculously friendly, adorable (almost like teddy bear hamsters with their nubs for tails), and packed with personalities that make you want to scoop them up and smooch all day.”
The kittens, despite still being so little, are already creating all kinds of antics with their unbridled energy, and running around the house like they own it.

Allison’s resident dog, Olive, has offered a helping paw to kitten-sit the rambunctious two.
Lexi and Amelia are people-cats and will follow their humans everywhere around the house. “You have to watch where you step constantly because they’re always underfoot,” Allison told us.
“Amelia is definitely the snuggly one. She is still on the bottle for supplemental feedings. Lexi is a little more ambitious and loves to explore and interact with her friends.”
The two sisters keep their humans and furry friends on their toes with their constant mischief-making. After a good play session, they enjoy curling up in a warm lap to catch some shut-eye.
“I’d love to see them adopted together. They love to wrestle each other and snuggle together.”
After a rough start, the two best friends are thrilled to be doted on by a loving foster family. They are enjoying their VIP life together and can’t get enough of each other.
