Кitten With А Sweet Face Finds Тhe Right Family Тo Нelp Нer Тhrive

While an animal welfare group was working on a TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) programme last month, this adorable cat was discovered all by herself on the chilly streets.

The kitten was transferred right away to Meow Village, a wild cat rescue facility in Aurora, Oregon, to give her a better life.

Meow Village addressed:

She was observed by a TNR rescuer capturing cats for spaying and neutering. The kitten needed to be examined further, that much was clear. Within hours, she was in the arms of a volunteer at Meow Village after a few calls were made.

When the little girl arrived at the rescue center, they noticed that she had a cleft lip, walked a little shaky and was malnourished. Selina, a volunteer, did not hesitate to help her.

At the rescue facility, critical or special needs kittens are never turned away since they should have the same opportunity as other cats. The young girl felt better after taking a warm bath to get rid of the fleas; she then ate to satisfaction and slept off in her new bed.

As Selina put it:

“This cat is affectionate and lovely. She consumes food and liquids well, and she quickly mastered the

The kitten was diagnosed with hydrocephalus (increased fluid in the head), blindness, and ataxia after being sent to a specialist (lack of coordination or balance). The volunteers were really concerned about this since it was highly likely that she would continue to show issues and need specialist care in the future.

Despite all these problems, the lovely fluffball seemed to be very happy with his life, and he only cared about enjoying his time.

While at the veterinary hospital, staff member Desirae completely fell for the feisty little attitude and decided to adopt her.

Desirae said:

“I couldn’t stop thinking about her and how lucky she was in this life. She is sweet, affectionate and playful. I knew I had to help her, so I offered to take her in as a hospice adoption (plus she would have access to 24-hour veterinary care.”

Together with her husband, she was willing to give him all the love, attention and care he needed to have a very happy life.

The kitten was given the name Penelope Fern, and shortly after arriving at her new home, she started to exhibit signs of happiness. Her new family quickly learned how much she loved to eat, how much she loved cuddles, and how much she loved toys.

Villagers stated:

“Despite her little size, she has a voracious appetite. She informs you how hungry she is as soon as she smells her food and won’t stop until her dish is empty.”

She is mostly blind but doesn’t let that stop her from being like other kittens. Penelope can perceive just enough light and shade to sufficiently investigate her surroundings.

She loves spending time and playing with the other resident cats, and despite being smaller, she holds her own and faces them. But the best thing is that she is a professional cuddler and she makes sure that her human father, Danny, is not alone when she is home.

Desirae said:

“Her personality is amazing. She loves to run as fast as lightning, chasing her brothers and sisters, even though she is very small. She loves to play with all of her toys and climb up the back cushions of the sofa and jump like Superman’.

According to Desirae, whenever her husband relaxes at home, especially on the sofa, the little girl is always there to keep him company.

Her family will support Penelope in her battle for a better life and is prepared to provide for her in the way that she deserves.

Desirae continued:

Despite her medical issues, she behaves like a typical, content cat.
