The Montreal shelter contacted Chatons Orphelins Montréal about two distressed kittens in the latter part of last year.
Earlier that month, when scooping up an injured hit-and-run cat off the road, rescuers discovered the mother’s two tiny kittens nearby.
Brother and sister remained close to one another at all times. Both had chin patches that resembled beards, which gave their features a happy appearance.
The kittens couldn’t be left there by the rescuers. Together with the cat, they were picked up and taken away.
Mom was urgently sent to the hospital for a vital operation for her, and the kittens were transported to the animal rights activists Chatons Orphelins Montréal, because the kids need to socialize, and it’s best to do it in the comfort of overexposure.
“They were treated for worms, but otherwise they are healthy and in great shape,” rescuers say.
By the time the stray cat’s kittens were captured, they were healthy and robust. Once with the guardians, the kittens had a rather smooth transition to life at home.
They were first a little timid and huddled together tightly, but as soon as they started to feel secure around humans, they started to explore the home, room by room.
Beibet and Teipo, two kittens, went in a single line along each route. Like a mirror, they mirrored one another; if one started to play, the other did too.
They are lively and inquisitive, and they are lured to feather toys. Always seeking for something to play with and explore new things (for a pair). As soon as we pull out a stick covered with feathers, both start running, the volunteers said.
When not chasing each other around the home, they cuddle and bathe each other while grinning ecstatically.
Over the past weeks, the kittens have become larger, more confident and affectionate. They stay close to people, so that when they want, they get attention and hugs on demand.
“Look at them and they are already purring. And then they come and fawn.”
The Teipo boy is energetic and throws himself into any activity with his head. If his sister is stroked, then he needs it too, and he does not accept objections. Babette is peaceful and calm. Together they are the perfect duo.
“If Babette jumps on the couch to cuddle with the guardians, the brother rushes after. They do not spill water, and they cannot be separated.
Meanwhile, the mother cat made a full recovery and enjoyed everyone’s attention. She’ll never have to get pregnant again, she’ll stay warm and safe.
After two months in foster care, the brother and sister found their dream home. They moved into their new home together, never to be separated.
“That night they sleep at home. It really is a dream come true!”
Beibette and Teipo continued their playful joint activities. They fight, play catch-up, and falling asleep, wrap their paws around each other.
Cute kittens with perfect beards are living the best life, cuddling endlessly with their loving family.
