After being discovered abandoned in a tiny Canadian town’s streets, a loving kitten makes it her mission to never again be alone. To that goal, she goes to tremendous measures to win the love of her new canine buddy.
In the summer before, a little, abandoned kitten from Newfoundland and Labrador’s Gaultois was stumbling around the streets on its own. People felt she had been abandoned since she was the only feline in the neighborhood when they first noticed her.
The Good Samaritans decided to act swiftly to save the little girl after carefully listening to her pleadings; they realized she was in desperate need of assistance.
From the beginning, the kitten proved to be very stubborn and brave, so in a matter of minutes she clung to her rescuers, she did not want to be alone.
Exploits Valley SPCA , an animal rescue center based in Grand Falls-Windsor, caught wind of the story and took care of the little feline. The kitten was about 4 or 5 weeks old, she was so small that she could fit in a pocket, hence the name Pocket for her.
Pocket was very energetic and all she wanted was to be hugged and carried around all day in a pocket or sweatshirt. All those days wandering the streets were in the past, now she Pocket demanded to be loved and pampered in every possible way.
The initial plan was that Pocket could have a mother figure that fills her with love, but unfortunately the adoptive mother did not accept her. After having no luck with a surrogate mother, the animal shelter took to social media to find her a forever home and family.

“She is a robust cat that uses her litter box, eats on her own, and is preoccupied with people. She needs someone who can spend a lot of time with her because she is quite feisty.
Keesha Hicks saw the cute Pocket’s article at that time and fell in love with the cat right away.
When she arrived to the rescue facility, the woman knew Pocket was the dog for the job since she had a tiny dog who needed a companion.
When Keesha picked up Pocket from the shelter, the young girl went into her arms without a second thought, as if she already knew she had found her family.
She had a ferocious attitude for a small cat. She had no fears whatsoever.
When the tiny cat, who had been given the name Remi, got to her new house, the first thing she did was go up to the dog Lexi and demand her attention.
He tried to snuggle up to her side and caress her face, it was evident that he wanted to get her attention and win her acceptance in any way he could.
Lexi was confused by the new member of the family, but little Remi was determined to earn her trust quickly. So she followed Lexi around the house, like she was her shadow, and she didn’t want to leave her side.
After being abandoned and rejected by a foster mother, Remi wanted to win her friend’s heart and would not accept a negative answer.
Keesha declared:
He attempted to hug Lexi and then sat down next to her on the couch thinking it was his mother.
Remi’s companionship didn’t keep Lexi for long before she decided to eventually accept her into her pack.
From that point forward, their lovely friendship blossomed, and Remi at last experienced the acceptance he had been searching for ever since his rescue. When they battle, Remi always comes out on top because what she lacks in physical strength, she more than makes up for in personality.
Despite their improbable connection, the two have proven to be each other’s go-to sleepover and adventure buddies ever since. Remi is the mastermind behind all the antics; sometimes they play in their parents’ bed or watch TV together.
Additionally, the small cat has acquired certain canine talents, and she isn’t afraid to employ them in her daily activities.
Because Remi insisted on it, Lexi has come to adore her feline sister without conditions; he is constantly at her side taking care of her and laughing at her silliness.
Remi has grown up, his eyes have changed color, he has long whiskers, tufts of hair in his ears, and a bushy tail that adorns his beauty.
