After years of life on the streets, a cat found the ideal home, and the best part is that he has now taken on the roles of foster father and teacher for all the kittens who come into his home.
An orange tabby cat was seen in Jen’s backyard when she was serving as a foster volunteer for Jin Bottle Babies, a kitten rescue organization in Arizona. Three years prior, Romeo the cat had ears that were flattened to the sides when she first met him.
The cat was given attention while the lady sterilized and inspected him; although his ears had healed, the scars had left them with an odd look.
Jen always took care of the kitty with the funny “airplane ears”, along with the other needy cats in her town.
Jen told:
“He wagged his tail like a dog and his flat ears misled other cats into thinking he was angry.”
Romeo had no health problems and just wanted to get along with the other cats, but the other cats attacked him for no reason.
After a street brawl, Jen wanted to assist him and decided to give him a home. Best of all, she blended in quite fine. The tabby boy quickly developed into a loving being whose only apparent desire was to have a lifelong home.
Since then, Romeo followed Jen everywhere in the house, he wanted attention, lots of hugs and constant adoration.
Jen added:
“He is a super affectionate and tender boy. He always wants to be on my lap. He is not shy, and if someone comes, he climbs on his lap to be hugged.
He revealed his actual self once he was let inside, and Jen started to recognize something noble and unique about him. Romeo started to develop a strong attraction to the foster kittens, which was the only thing keeping him away from his mother.
Romeo insisted cat staying near to the new kittens whenever they came, showering them with affection and offering them his priceless protection. The endearing tabby cat accepts the job of foster father and genuinely takes the responsibility of acting in that capacity very seriously.
If the kittens are five weeks old or more, Romeo becomes their adoptive father and mentor, showering them with lots of love.
Jen commented:
“If a kitten is crying, he runs around trying to find and help him. If I make them cry for any reason, he headbutts me.”
Romeo is loved and adored by the kittens, who feel comfortable around him. The cat encourages them to bathe gently, and if they are being particularly harsh, he gently taps them on the head to reprimand them.
Jen added:
“It makes parenting so much easier.”
Apparently, Romeo has a special way of getting the attention of little kittens, and they admire him and learn a lot from him.
When her siblings were seeing the vet, a foster cat named Lucy was left all by herself in her room. Romeo learned of the incident and made the decision to keep Lucy company all day till her brothers arrived; he was aware of what Lucy needed.
Romeo’s role as a foster father is without a doubt the most crucial; despite the efforts of volunteers, there are some things that a cat parent does better.
Jen stated:
“Romeo’s eager washing sessions were better than anything we could teach a kitten to do for self-cleaning.”
Romeo has been a huge help in providing these kittens with the ideal education to help them grow up to be admirable cats.
Romeo not only found the perfect house after wandering the streets, but also found a profession full of love forever .
