Jennifer, a volunteer at the IndyHumane rescue facility in Indianapolis, Indiana, took in a family of cats who desperately needed assistance. Sadly, all four members of the family died, including three of the kittens. Under the foster care of the rescue facility, her mother and her other young children, Benny, Bea, and Bear, quickly flourished.
Jennifer didn’t anticipate having to foster any more kittens at the time, but destiny had other ideas. She took in a new family, and one of the kittens was named Bear. Bear was a really kind guy to her, and he was constantly asking for some of her pets. He would rush to Jennifer after each meal.
Jennifer told :
“My heart healed as they healed, and they became strong, happy, healthy kittens and began to develop their own unique personalities.”
As they shared in the foster home, Jennifer noticed that Benny and Bea spent a lot of time together, while their brother Bear played alone most of the time and sometimes accompanied their foster mother, waiting for the right moment to jump into the house. your lap.
Jennifer tells:
“When I tried to lay him down so I could go to sleep, he looked at me with his big blue eyes and let out a solid 10-second meow to let me know he didn’t agree.”
Jennifer soon noticed that the small cat was forming relationships with her family as well. Evidently, her own cat, Bodie, adopted the cuddly and endearing Bear.
The participant recalls:
“I would occasionally remove the kittens from the foster room to see Bodie. Benny and Bea were adamantly opposed to him, but Bear was a different story. He allowed Bodie to love him because he loved him.
Bodie seemed delighted to have a new buddy who similarly valued his attention and enthusiasm, and Bear naturally returned the favor with excitement.
Jenna continues:
“I really believe that Bodie went with Bear. The more time I allowed them to spend together, the more I realized he belonged with us since they appeared to click right away.
The sweet white kitten was very happy when he spent time with his foster family, and he always found a way to keep their attention on him. When the kittens were ready to find their forever homes, it became abundantly clear that Bear belonged to Jennifer’s family.
She said:
“Every night when I go to bed, Bear goes to bed too. Bodie shares his bedtime snack with him, and then he sleeps next to me all night.”
Along with Bodie, Jennifer also had a cute cat named Lacey who was 16 years old when she met Bear. Bear quickly established himself as a magnificent middleman between his older brothers because the youngster recognized Lacey’s disliking of Bodie.
Bear’s presence was greatly beneficial since it gave Bodie another cat to focus on and prevented him from using his energy on Lacey. The white cat understood that his new sibling Lacey need a different kind of care.
Before long, Bear managed to win Lacey’s affection and used to cuddle up to her side and take long naps together amidst sweet purrs.
Jennifer recalls:
“He kind of won her over, and before long, she really accepted his attention and allowed him to snuggle up to her. I never imagined something like this would happen.”
Bear and Lacey were quite close over the ensuing months; the cat found solace in Bear since he reminded her of his 13-year-old brother, Nolan. But regrettably, Lacey passed away in December of last year at the age of 17.
Jenna stated:
“I will always be appreciative to Bear for giving her such kind and devoted company and care throughout her final year of life. In so many ways, he really was the ideal addition to our family.
The charming Bear has grown into a handsome young cat and has learned to help his mother with the kittens she takes in; he always looks forward to meeting them and offering them lots of love.
The kittens are usually a bit withdrawn and anxious, but as soon as Bear approaches them, the felines transform and even the most timid kitty falls for his charms.
Little did Jennifer know that the adorable kitty would be everything she needed for her home, and she couldn’t be happier to have him as a member of her family.
