A kitten came running towards a couple while they were exploring different Greek cities and locations, and it quickly joined them as their new adventure buddy.
In their RV, Claire and Derek explore the globe together. On one particular trip, they went through Greece.
They saw a small kitten that was meowing for food one day while they were taking in the sunset on the beach, which was a bit of an unexpected guest.
Claire told:
“We were in Evia parked on a beach about 10 days ago, this little kitty came up to us. There were no other tourists around and the only local was an old man who was out for a walk.”
Apparently, the kitten had first approached the old man and begged for something to eat, so he gave him some snacks. According to the gentleman, he did not believe that the little cat had a home , since most of the houses are vacant and were unoccupied.
They learned after interrogating multiple persons that nobody was missing a cat from their house and that the cat was actually a little homeless animal.
Claire stated:
We realized the kitten, who had been abandoned on the sand, would not have survived another day without access to food, water, and shelter.
As time went on, the kitten played with Claire’s feet and fought for her attention by giving her lots of cuddles and kisses.
The adorable kitty quickly slept off in Claire’s arms, and she was then driven to the car to rest. In the hopes that it would be claimed, the couple made the decision to stay in the location another day.
In the meantime, the friendly feline was very comfortable in the car and quickly assumed the role of security cat for the truck.
Claire added:
“We couldn’t leave him, he was so small and so hungry. So we decided to take it on our travels with us. We call him Vangelis, Greek for Archangel.”
Vangelis proved to be a great travel companion and joined the couple on their journey from that point on. He is a wonderful passenger since he ignores traffic noise, drives for a long time, and is not affected by loud engine noises.
In addition to winning the hearts of many tourists and residents alike, the cute cat spreads happiness wherever he goes. Earlier this year, a Greek woman who saw the kitten fell in love with him and made the decision to visit him to provide him cat food and treats.
After a while, the woman made up her mind to come again, but this time she brought the pair food in the form of a bag of oranges and many eggs from her hens.
Claire stated:
“We have encountered this wherever we have gone in Greece. I am so moved by these small deeds of compassion by “strangers” to one another.
Vangelis has become into a seasoned traveler, sleeping peacefully nearly constantly while traveling with his people, and his voracious hunger is still there.
Without a doubt, the kitten adores his new existence, especially because he won’t need to scavenge the streets for food any more.
He now has two devoted parents who will provide him a home for the rest of his life and take the best possible care of him in every way.
