Sometimes, adopting a pet is not a choice we can make. A soldier serving in Romania has shared a story proving this fact.
Cats typically succeed in getting what they want because they are aware of what they desire. As if cats had the exclusive ability to pique our desire. A black cat in Romania decided to make a soldier his favorite person by choosing to nap inside the soldier’s battle helmet. There was no chance the cat would be left behind, even though it wasn’t the most comfortable bed.
Justin, the soldier in the story, reported that this cat started to follow him to his base. Ever since he found the cat, he has been his constant shadow. And Justin named him Salem.
Lounging on his human’s laps
Salem adores sitting on Justin’s lap and wearing his helmet just as much. The other soldiers at the base observe Justin and Salem nursing each other in private after a long day. The soldier then made the decision to bring Salem home with him to live with him after the mission was completed.
Salem has gained endless love from not Justin but people around him
Over $4000 has been donated to Salem’s GoFundMe campaign so that he can get immunized and be taken home. The money, according to Justin, is more than enough.
Salem and other stray cats are not unusual occurrences in Romania. In order to support the cause in Romania, Justin pledged to donate the remaining funds to Oana’s Homeless Street Paws.
