Four kittens were reported to be in critical distress to Southern California-based all-volunteer organization Wrenn Rescues two weeks ago. They were discovered famished and in a bad situation.
As soon as the kittens were delivered to the municipal shelter, volunteer Ashley Kelly went there and quickly grabbed them.
The kittens must have been removed from their mother for a significant length of time because of their weariness and contamination. These infants were left alone for at least a few days, according to Ashley.
The kittens were covered in fleas, dirt and even debris. Nevertheless, they showed an incredible will to live, held together and supported each other.
After going through the bath procedures and eating, the kids warmed up in a comfortable warm bed and began to make up for the lost sleep.
The smallest of the brood is Wirt (gray-white), while the biggest is Gregory (white-red). The first several days, redhead Lorna, who is fair, slept all through. She is the second tallest and unquestionably the drowsiest of all of them.
Aunt Whisper, a multicolored girl with unusual face patterns reminiscent of a Rorschach, was determined to develop into a large, powerful woman.
Ashley began treating the babies for eye infections and stomach problems, and worked to improve their overall health. Jen Marder of Wrenn Rescues helped provide all four kittens with optimal care.
The kittens are on the mend, receiving round-the-clock feeding, care and love.
At about the age of three weeks, baby Greg has already learned to demand hugs. A strong bond formed between him and his brother, and they clung to each other day and night.
“Greg and Wirth are a great duo. In my experience, kittens rarely come together at such an early age! These two are always together and it’s adorable,” adds Ashley.
“Lorna has a grumpy expression on her face, and Aunt Whisper is the sleepiest and most cheerful child in the world, she doesn’t care about anything.”
As soon as the tricolor girl began to show character, she introduced everyone without ceremony to her newfound audacity and charisma.
Aunt Whisper doesn’t think twice to make her numerous needs known loudly. She’s certainly that sassy one, says Jen.
The multicolored girl’s tummy gained healthy fat and rounded substantially after just two weeks. She accomplished an amazing feat, mastered the nuances of eating and sleeping, and readied herself for the following phase of development.
“She eats, meows a little to show that she’s still not happy with me, and then goes to sleep,” Ashley says. “This girl was too weak to feed on her own, but apparently she has no problem growing when fed.”
Now, having recovered, she is the embodiment of feline charm.
You can’t miss Wirt; he’s the prettiest man around! He’s doing fantastic now that he’s downing a bottle on his own. Although he is progressively putting on weight, he is still not as healthy as his siblings, according to Ashley.
He purrs loudly, and the way he meows angrily to want attention warms my heart.
In less than two weeks, kittens have undergone dramatic alteration.
Every day, their paws grow stronger and stronger, and they are eager to put them to use.
