Аt Тhe Nursing Нome Сat Аnd Нer Dad Were Оverjoyed Тo See Еach Оther

When Tony, Chicken Little’s father, unexpectedly suffered a stroke and was hospitalized, they were having a great time together. Even after his release, it was obvious that he would no longer be able to take care of his beloved cat in the same manner; so, one of his neighbors started the agonizing process of finding Chicken Little a new family.

Amanda Hassan had been on the waitlist to be a foster mom with some local rescues and was still waiting to be approved when she saw a post that Tony’s neighbor had made on a local pets Facebook page, looking for a foster family for Chicken Little. Hassan quickly made arrangements to take her in, and it wasn’t long before she was completely in love with the sweet cat. It was clear that this was a foster fail situation, and Hassan officially adopted Chicken Little into her family.

“He called her his Little Angel, but we’ve taken to calling her Chicken Little because she talks so much,” Hassan told The Dodo.

Tony entered a nursing home where he could receive the attention and support he need after leaving the intensive care unit. Hassan knew Chicken Little and her father must miss one other even if she was secure and content in her new home. With the aid of Tony’s neighbor, she set up a special visit to bring the two back together.

The group decided to attempt it even though the nursing home officially doesn’t accept dogs, and they were thrilled to find that the staff were actually entirely on board to support them.

Hassan stated, “The nursing and care professionals basically act like they’re not seeing her.”

After letting Chicken Little out into Tony’s room at the nursing home, she was a little shy at first, unsure of her new surroundings — but as soon as she saw her dad, she couldn’t help but run over to him for some leg rubs and eventual snuggles.

“He seemed to brighten right up when she did that,” Hassan said.

Tony was pleased to finally be reunited with his Little Angel and was just as delighted to see her as she was to see him.

During their stay, Tony and Chicken Little had plenty of time to snuggle with one another, and even when it came time to say goodbye, neither of them seemed sad. Their loved ones are keen to continue the visits for as long as they can, and they both just seem happy that they still get to see each other sometimes.

Hassan stated, “We hope to bring her in every two weeks.” With regular visits, we want to keep his spirits up.
