Last night, a small stray kitten contacted the couple as he arrived their West Virginia home.
“The kitten came running up to my boyfriend from the alley behind our house while he was outside. He was filthy and flea-covered, and he meowed loudly, according to Hannah.
When Hanna stepped outside, she observed the cat wailing and constantly purring at her. She grabbed it up and turned to head back inside when she heard the patter of little paws behind her.
“When I looked back, I saw his sister moving quickly toward me. She was in my arms as I carried them both inside.
The kittens named Feon and Yara were in poor condition, with fleas thickly covering their tiny bodies. The guy and the girl, both animal lovers and pet owners, started washing them, trying to get rid of all the annoying parasites. After a few baths, they gave the kittens food and a warm bed to help them relax.
Kitten Yara immediately began to eat and began to perk up, but her brother Theon experienced some difficulties.
Sometime in the middle of the night, he started to droop swiftly and got quite sleepy. He was kept warm with a heating pad and a towel by Hanna. She gave him fluids to drink to encourag him.
Every several minutes, I rubbed sugar syrup on his gums. He recovered after approximately 45 minutes. I obviously bawled my eyes out,” Hanna says.
Theon got out, started meowing and even tried to get out of the crib with newfound energy. The boy did not give up and finally overcame the peak of the disease.
“He was purring so loudly when I picked him up. Although he was as weak as possible last night, he retained his mighty purr-roar, ”says Hannah.
The kittens became better the following morning. Every hour they got stronger and ate well.
To put it gently, “It was like a rollercoaster. I initially believed that Yara wouldn’t make it through the night. Theon then frightened me. But right now, they’re both preoccupied with eating and growing into healthy kittens.
Theon promptly grasped his bottle and has continued to feed voraciously ever since. “I gave him chicken broth and baby food. He is doing lot better now, says Hannah.
He clings to me like a tree and meows. Yara keeps eating like she has never seen anybody else do.
Fluffy brother and sister receive round-the-clock care in a cozy home, in a circle of loving people who always caress.
“Theon is addicted to the kitten formula bottle.”
Uncle Bruce, Hannah’s dog, has also come to introduce himself.
“Uncle Bruce never abandons them; he continuously cares for them.”
When the couple found the kittens yesterday, they were hungry, dirty and covered in fleas.
“Now they are happy and full after a delicious meal with milk,” says Hannah.
