They left their pet cat behind at their previous residence when Maria’s neighbors moved out. Maria saw the entire heartbreaking procedure because she lives just in front of their house, across the street.
She reasoned that they may say, “We’re moving out, we don’t want him, can you have him,” and leave him in her care rather than abandoning him. But regrettably, everyone kept quiet and just left him alone.
She looked over and discovered that the old cat was waiting for his owners to come home. For any car movement, he would look up. Whether it was rainy, windy, or cold, he would wait out there so calm, just looking back and forth. He was so broken.
At that moment, Maria knew that she had to help him. She wanted to adopt the elderly cat in and make him be happy for the rest of his life. However, he didn’t let her near him. She started looking up ways to get a cat to trust her. At first, the cat ran away whenever he saw Maria, but then he slowly trusted Maria and let her close to him.
Maria brought him to the veterinarian after earning his trust. She went to pick him up after he had to stay there for four days. He was, thankfully, stronger and healthier. Due of his adorable eyes, she gave him the name Rolo.
He would continue to peek across the street when she took him home. He is still extremely fun and energetic despite his age. He enjoys playing soccer and loves balls. Rolling in the dirt is one of his favorite activities. He enjoys being outside. Except when it’s really cold, windy, or excessively hot, the family consents to letting him outside.
They even made a room that he can come and go as he pleases. The best part is that they gave him not only a new family, but a new life.
