Аfter 7 Years Аpart А Мan Нad Аn Еmotional Reunion With Нis Lost 19-Year-Old Сat

An unexpected call telling a guy named Robert that his pet cat, Chebon, was still alive shocked him earlier this month.

Robert hadn’t seen Chebon in seven years; she vanished right before their planned relocation from California to Ohio. Robert, who wished to remain anonymous, delayed his transfer so he could stay and look for his cherished pet, but after a year with no luck and no leads, he was forced to go.

In a video that was put on the Facebook page of Ventura County Animal Services, Robert stated, “I remember at one time I was praying and I said, ‘God, I’ll do anything, just bring my Chebon back.’”

Then, the impossible happened. A kind lady spotted a sickly-looking cat on the side of the road and brought him to a local vet. Besides being a bit dehydrated and dirty from living on the streets, the cat was surprisingly healthy. And when they scanned him for a microchip, Robert’s name came up. They also discovered that the cat was, in fact, 19 years old.

“I was afraid there was some kind of mistake,” Robert said.

Robert booked a flight to Los Angeles as soon as he could and drove up to Camarillo Animal Shelter. He was brought into a private room and as they opened a cardboard box, his eyes softened.

When Robert and Chebon finally got to see one another after seven years, it seemed as though nothing had changed. No one in the room was able to keep a dry eye.

The Dodo quoted Randy Friedman, marketing manager for Ventura County Animal Services, as saying, “Everyone in that room — there was another animal control officer and she was sobbing, I was tearing up.” “It was incredible from start to finish, and it was all because to a microchip.”
