Guy Discovers Нis Сat Вefriending Тhe Мouse Нe Was Мeant Тo Сatch

Simon is a lovely cat who has discovered a novel method of getting rid of “pests” in his house.

He makes them his visitors.

A few weeks ago, Simon’s owner, Benjamín Sagredo, began hearing some strange noises coming from his kitchen in the city of Punta Arenas, Chile. The sounds were faint, happening only occasionally, so Sagredo wasn’t too concerned.

“We didn’t know what it was,” Sagredo told The Dodo. “We had seen Simon playing with something under an armchair once, but we didn’t give it much thought.”

Turns out, Simon had become aware of an intruder who’d been making these sounds — and he decided to make him feel welcome.

One morning, when Sagredo was preparing to enter the kitchen, he noticed an unexpected scene. Simon was there, sipping from his water dish. He was accompanied by a mouse.

The kind-hearted cat seems to have developed a friendship with the prey item he was probably born to hunt.

“They appeared to be well acquainted. Sagredo said that Simon was being affectionate. “I chose to capture it. I feared that nobody would take my account.

Sagredo was shocked. But seeing Simon’s friendly approach toward the mouse, Sagredo couldn’t help but take on the same view.

“I felt for the little mouse. I couldn’t dream of hurting him,” Sagredo said. “I named him Chefcito.”

Simon’s compassion was contagious.

In the beginning, Sagredo took Chefcito and carried him outdoors in case he wanted to flee. Chefcito, though, clearly felt at home.

And he ought to.

He has returned several times, according to Sagredo. “We appreciate Simon accepting him,’ He is a very loving and outgoing cat. We will have to adopt Chefcito if he continues to show up.
