Vigili del Fuoco firemen were shocked to hear faint meows while clearing up the wreckage left by a 6.2-magnitude earthquake. They kept sifting through the rubble until they came to a gray and white long-haired cat stuck amid the stones inside a fallen house. After 4 days buried under the debris, the cat miraculously survived.
The miracle cat’s name is Rocco. It’s been a month since the village was hit by the earthquake, so no one expected to find anyone alive under the ruins. But Rocco with an amazing will to live didn’t give up.
Despite being dehydrated, he appears to be in good condition. Nobody knows how he managed to stay alive without food or drink. But it’s apparent that this savvy cat is highly clever!
Luckily, Rocco’s owners were there at the time to oversee the demolition of their home. They didn’t know their beloved kitty was still alive. So when they saw Rocco, they were overwhelmed with joy. That must’ve been the surprise of a lifetime.
Cristiana Graziani, a veterinarian, examined and treated Rocco on the spot. The kitten was tired yet cheerful. Rocco felt so much better after being looked after.
“An incredible story, but true,” Graziani said.
