Layla D’Souza, founder of the Winston Memorial Foundation, acquired a ginger tabby found in the park a few weeks ago. He was frail and required help.
The child searched the park for his mother, but she was nowhere to be seen. “None of his siblings managed to escape.” “I called him Thor (after the Marvel superhero) since he had to fight right away,” Layla explains.
Thor was placed in foster care, where he could heal peacefully under the supervision of a guardian. “He was a little shy when he initially came. “But every day he became stronger and more trusting,” recalls Thor’s adoptive mother, Khanin Alrabea.
On good food, in comfortable conditions, and with gentle care, Thor recovered from what he had experienced. After that, he wanted attention.
Alani, Khanin’s pet cat, heard the kitten’s voice (which by this time was already healthy) and looked into the nursery. Realizing that he was not the only cat in the house, the tabby kid made it his goal to make friends with her.
When they were fully acquainted, the kitten dashed over to Alani, bursting with the need to poke her in the face as a greeting. Alani felt a little embarrassed by the pressure, especially when Thor started following her around the home.
“Alani was not happy to have another cat in the home,” Khanin adds, “but he persisted to approach her, even when she snarled and growled.”
The striped whale did not accept refusals and stubbornly conquered Alani. Following her step by step, he tried to snuggle up to her at every opportunity.
And the persistent kitten changed Alani’s attitude towards him, whose hissing was replaced by a purr, and growling – by licking. “In the end, she accepted it.”
Thor felt secure in the company of his new best buddy. During the game, he became her tiny shadow and even tried to emulate her behaviors. Alani adopted the cat and lavished her with affection.
“They’re extremely close now; they like to sleep and snuggle together, but they prefer to play catch-up and wrestle,” Khanin adds.
Alani, like Thor, was brought into Khanin’s life by adoption. She now provides the same affection to the kitten that she previously got as a child.
“We’re overjoyed that he has someone to snuggle and play with.” “They also have a similar appearance,” Leila writes. Thor is a powerful and steadfast warrior. He had a great mother, Alani, who adopted him as her own despite the fact that he had lost everything.”
The kitten feels good, he is happy that he has someone to look up to and rely on. Adult Alani teaches him cat tricks, but most importantly – gives him the feeling that he is loved.
“Thor is incredibly energetic and funny. He is one of the strongest, strongest cats that I brought up, ”says Khanin.
