Saving Grace Rescue volunteers in California were alerted to a pair of kittens in trouble two months ago.
“They came in with ringworm when they were around four weeks old,” explains Amber, the founder of the Saving Grace Rescue organization. “That morning, Joyce, a foster volunteer, joked about wanting ginger kittens, and lo and behold, these two showed up.”
Joyce enthusiastically began to help the kids, whom she named Ruth and Ginsburg. At the overexposure, the kittens settled quickly and were grateful to their caring guardian, who satisfies all their needs.
Despite the daily procedures for removing ringworm, the kids were always in a great mood. “We wash them and cover them with cream so that they recover faster,” says Joyce.
The brother and sister were active and interested from the start, following their foster mother around the room on their heels.
Ginsburg initially did not acquire weight. Ruthie supported him, stood by his side, and enthusiastically participated in all of the group activities. Ruthie pursued Ginsburg when she got on the scales for the customary weigh-in, not wanting to abandon her brother.
Kittens aren’t afraid to make their numerous demands known. Ginsburg is still a talker who begins each day with a meeting with his foster mother. If he wants affection and attention, he will go to great lengths to be heard.
Ginsburg and Ruthie were already boisterous and seeking issues with their fuzzy butts while they were just a few weeks old. They would frequently assault Joyce’s leg. She had to go across the room with two kittens dangling from her calf, all four paws clinging fast.
Brother and sister are incredibly close. “They always cover for each other. I take one kitten to feed, and the second one is already climbing up my leg – where would it be without him!
After a long treatment and care, the kittens finally fully recovered and noticeably grew. They are cute, healthy, with bulging bellies, and terribly energetic, which is noticeable in the chaos that is going on in the house by their efforts.
Finally, the kittens are ready to go on to the next chapter of their lives. Ginsburg and Ruth are seeking a permanent house for the two of them, as they are unable to live apart.
Hector, a local cat, teaches the youngsters how to be genuine saffrons.
“They love each other and always have each other,” says Joyce.
