Because black cats are associated with superstition, they have a hard time finding everlasting homes. Many people believe they bring ill-luck, and they frequently bring sad and unlucky individuals. These unfortunate creatures already have a difficult time finding suitable homes, but life does not allow them to live in peace and continues to present them with new obstacles.
A man was driving when he saw a tiny kitten trying to cross a busy road with a lot of traffic. He immediately stopped his car, grabbed her, and took her home. “She ran under his car, so he stopped, grabbed her, and rushed home.”
He posted a picture of the cat on social media in the hopes that someone would adopt her. Thankfully, Holly Brookhouser, an Arkansas-based animal rescuer and foster, stumbled across the message on a local Facebook group. She jumped in right away and agreed to foster the kitten.
Marcelo, Holly’s adoptive son, was celebrating his second year at home on that day, making it even more memorable. “I assumed we’d save this baby to honor this day!”
“I noticed the article about the cat and realized it may wind up in the wrong hands,” Brookhouser told Bored Panda. “So, on the day we were celebrating Marcelo’s second year home with us, I thought, what better way to mark the day than to save the life of this kitty.”
They quickly took the kitten to the vet and prepared a new home for her. The little fluffball curled up on her shoulder and slept through the drive home. Marcelo was so happy and decided to give her the cutest name – Appleseed.
“Marcelo was overjoyed to be able to name the baby, and after much consideration, he excitedly exclaimed Appleseed! He understands that Appleseed is only a foster child who will ultimately require a loving home. In the interim, he’s assisting me in acclimating her to a family life full of good food and affection.”
We’re glad to hear that Appleseed is settling into her new home and that her adventurous side is beginning to emerge.
After everything that has transpired in the past, she now has a bright future ahead of her when she finds her permanent home with loving and caring owners.
