Davey is a stray kitten that was found by a kind stranger on a Florida road. After being hit by a car, the small cat sustained terrible injuries and lay motionless on the road. His position appeared to be hopeless, but happily, someone saved him and phoned the local rescue Caring Fields Felines for help.
The rescue immediately took him to an animal hospital, where vets took an X-ray for him to see the extent of the damage. The poor kitten has suffered injuries from the accident. He had a broken neck and needed to be placed in a total body cast in 10 weeks.
Davey was taken care of by the veterinarians at the veterinary hospital, and he seemed well at first. He’s been in the cast for six weeks and is doing quite well. Before beginning physical therapy, he will be in his cast for 3 to 4 weeks.
He’s been termed a little burrito since he’s wrapped up in a kitty tortilla and looks so beautiful. They let him go home with one of their colleagues, Oakley, a veterinary technician’s dog, because no one wants to leave him alone every night. He adores Davey and regards him as his new best friend.
Once he is healthy and back to being a normal kitten, he will be placed up for adoption. Now he is making new friends and well on his way to find his forever home. We hope that he will find a good owner and a loving home that he deserves.
