Two small, critically unwell kittens were born on March 9. They were placed in a foster home the next day.
As soon as they arrived, a kind cat called Benny, a neighborhood resident, saw that these tiny furballs need double the amount of love and care.
The woman who took the babies from the local orphanage is named Helen Carozza. She works as a veterinarian at NOVA Cat Clinic in Virginia.
“The staff at the shelter knew they couldn’t provide these babies with serious treatment, so they rushed to bring them to me from Spotsylvania County,” recalls Helen.
The babies survived the 2-hour trip in order to get a better chance of survival.
The kittens had just been alive for 24 hours. They resembled two little versions of Benny the Snowman. As usual, the cat gave his assistance to the hostess and cheerfully shared the care of the new wards with her.
Since the first time he saw one, Benny has been fascinated by kittens.
Helen bottle-fed the babies around the clock. “We realized that we were dealing with a severe case where one kitten began to urinate blood, which indicated acute health problems.”
Despite all human efforts, one of the babies left this world 48 hours later.
“When Benny learned how much the remaining kitten needed him, he started participating in every feeding and grooming session.” “He came to see the ailing young one every hour,” Helen adds.
“We like to think Benny didn’t want the small one to give up on purpose.” He was tenacious, kind, and considerate.”
“Despite proper treatment and constant supervision, we still could not save them all. But on the other hand, we gained invaluable experience and next time we can save more lives in a similar situation.”
The remaining girl, Jubilee, pulled through and Benny took care of her with full dedication.
“He cared over our home incubator around the clock, waiting for me to get home from work and staring out the window.” “After all of this, he still had the power to offer kisses, which we call “Benny blessings,” and to bathe the children,” Helen adds.
The white cat looks after his adoptive daughter and keeps an eye on her as she sleeps.
Jubilee’s eyes, tail, nose, and fingertips began to change colour after 5 days.
“She started to resemble a polar bear cub rather than a cat cub.” “Obviously, she came from a Siamese family,” Helen explains.
Benny devoted maximum time to the baby and tried to instill in her a sense of security.
The child began to purr and become beautiful under her foster father’s care.
Benny quietly waits his turn to lick the baby as Ellen feeds him.
“Jubilee enjoys having her stomach scratched, as well as lying in human hands as in a cradle,” Helen explains.
“Jubilee is Benny’s lovely lady, and he is her white knight.” While she sleeps, he is still on duty next to her.
Jubilee is 10 days old today. “As she grows, Benny’s parenting methods change. Soon he will begin to teach her the great art of being a cat.”
Jubilee managed to survive in large part thanks to the support of her surrogate dad. The girl now regularly eats, becomes stronger, and more every day.
