Many families have fled war-torn Ukraine, and unfortunately, many of them have no choice but to leave their pets behind.
Thankfully, many humans remain in the cities who have taken it upon themselves to care for these unfortunate animals that have no idea how to survive on their own.
In this video, we meet a kind lady who has spotted a cat all alone in the street.
Many people were passing him by but she stopped to say hello.
He began to play as she went down to give him a stroke; it was clear that he was not wild and had been abandoned by a family, so she walked out to fetch him some food.
He was ravenous, and it didn’t take him long to complete the platter. While he was getting his hair cut, the lady thought that the best course of action would be to get him off the streets and into a better life.
Fleas had infested this lovely feline, and his fur was matted.
He also had dental issues, which he attributed to the tough life he was living on the streets.
He was fairly calm when they gave him a wash with flea shampoo; this was probably something he’d done before — a wild or stray cat would not like a bath!
She gave him the name Baton and brought him home.
His life had definitely changed for the better, he now had a warm cozy bed, plenty of toys, and lots of love.
But now it was time to find him, with the help of social media, a new forever home.
It didn’t take long for someone to adopt him because he is such a lovely cat.
We are ecstatic for Baton as he starts on a new phase of his life.
