It’s possible that Libby, the adorable little cat, is snuggled up in this unique improvised bed – a police cap — since it belongs to the cops who just saved her life.

The terrible account of Libby’s rescue by a heroic cop named Cameron Koss was revealed by the Livonia Police Department in Michigan on Monday. After noticing the scared kitten in the center of the bustling I-96 highway, a driver phoned for assistance. Libby was stuck and at grave risk of being hit by a car.

Koss didn’t waste any time in taking action.

“He was approached on the right shoulder by the caller, who pointed out a little black ball nestled near to the concrete barrier (left shoulder),” the police department reported on its website. “As you can expect, this necessitated a plan. Officer Koss and another officer pulled their police cars along the shoulder, hoping for a favorable outcome.”

Here’s a spectacular video that shows how they did it.

Libby was now safe — and she knew just who to thank.

She even got to wear his hat.

Libby was sent to the Michigan Humane Society after a little rest at the police station. She was treated for a respiratory ailment there, but not before Officer Koss gave her a loving send-off.

Libby is presently available for adoption at the Humane Society, where she hopes to be saved once again and placed in a loving forever home – an opportunity made possible by the individuals who helped her.
