A modest act of compassion might sometimes turn out to be much more than intended. In our following narrative, the mother cat is in this situation. After spending her entire life on Montreal’s streets, a man finally takes in the pregnant stray and offers her cats a better and brighter future.
Claire, a store owner from Montreal, Canada, was the first to notice the sly calico street cat. Outside her business, she noticed the stray lurking beneath her car. Claire led the scared cat inside the office, which was coated in filth.
The good woman fed and washed the miserable stray there. Life on the street seems to have sapped the cat’s vitality, as she fell asleep just seconds after eating her food.
Claire brought the stray to the vet after shutting the business. The veterinarian could not find a microchip, but she did have some unexpected news. Claire, it turns out, saved not one, but four lives!
Claire was well aware that she needed to provide the stray with the finest possible conditions in which to give birth to her children. She named her Ciboulette, which means chive in French, and brought her home.
Claire was unable to keep Ciboulette, much to her dismay. After hearing the cat’s story, her dear buddy Hadrien was more than willing to assist. It didn’t take the once-stray long to find his way back to him. Ciboulette snuggled up to her new foster father within minutes of her arrival, wanting his attention.
Fast forward a few weeks, it was time for Ciboulette to deliver her babies. The cat mewed and called her foster dad to keep her company while she was giving birth. It was then that Hadrien realized how much he actually meant to her.
The man brought her food and water and watched as she delivered her first two kittens. A couple of hours later, the newly made mother delivered her third and final baby. Her babies, now named Arbok, Mary, and Minci, were born with extra toes, just like their mother.
Arbok was the only man in the group, and he was the most amusing. He’d leap on his sisters in an attempt to entice them to play with him.
Mary was the calmest of the group. She could climb whatever she could get her paws on for days. Mary loved to snuggle and purr herself to sleep when she was tired.
Minci shared the most resemblance to her mother and grew up to be a stunner just like her.
Hadrien was astounded at how quickly the kittens grew. The naughty litter had only been following their mother for a few weeks when they began to explore every area of the house on their own.
Hadrien was able to spend more time with his foster kitten as a result, and he grew to love her even more. Hadrien finally realized that he wanted Ciboulette to be a permanent member of his family and decided to adopt her.
