Ashley Kelly, a shelter worker with Wrenn Rescues (animal activists in Southern California), discovered a little kitten in need of special care last month. When a nice guy heard his cries, he went to investigate and discovered the infant hiding under a car engine.
People instantly noticed something unusual after bringing the cat to safety. Although his palate looks to be intact, the black and white infant was born with a bilateral cleft lip.
His umbilical chord was still attached to his body, and his eyes were closed. Despite his modest stature, he had a great will to live from the start. Ashley snatched him up and carried him over to her.
She began to feed him around the clock through a tube and carry out general strengthening procedures. “The guy caught a little cold, so he needed antibiotics and nebulizer therapy,” says Ashley.
The kitten was placed in an incubator with soft blankets and toys. In a comfortable bed, satisfied and well-fed, he quickly fell asleep.
Odahviing (called after the video game character) said forcefully that he could not be broken easy. He immediately gained weight and strength thanks to nutritious meals, affection, and embraces.
Furthermore, the cub proved to be a demanding child who did not hesitate to express his desires to the foster mother.
By the eleventh day, the kitten opened his eyes and looked at the world for the first time. Proudly sticking out a healthy plump tummy, he absolutely enjoyed being picked up and caressed after each feeding.
When his eyes were fully opened, he took a closer look around and tried to explore with activity and curiosity, growing every day.
He stopped eating through the tube on the second week, and it was another success.
“I was able to move to a syringe with an extended cone through which I poured milk because he was able to switch to a syringe with an elongated cone.” He can’t suck because of his cleft lip,” Ashley says.
He not only increased in size, but he also exhibited his personality. A well-fed, pleased, and vocal infant outgrew the hands of a foster mother at the age of three weeks.
“He has a deep, powerful voice, a lengthy, muscular body, and a lot of demands.” I’m looking forward to seeing it blossom.”
In the circle of a loving family that meets all of his wants, a good kitten is well in overexposure. After each feeding, he asks to be cuddled, soaks up affection, and purrs charmingly.
“He likes to have his stomach touched and loved, and he purrs a lot,” Ashley explains.
Odahviing is four weeks old, and his baby teeth are just beginning to emerge. As though he’s set to take the world by storm, he’s already began to hobble and build his leg muscles.
Like a large cat, he will transition from milk to solid food when he is mature enough. For such a hero, his cleft lip will not be an issue.

Thanks to the rescuers and volunteers, the kitten has a bright future, and he is already happy now.
