А Stray Сat Who Сlimbed Оnto А Woman’s Lap Is Still Оn Тhe Нunt For А Нome

After her rescue tale went viral, a stray cat from Salt Lake City’s streets is still seeking for a home.

The small cat, now named Freya, was loitering in a school parking lot when she noticed Susannah Nevison, a doctorate student at the University of Utah, going toward her car.

“When I arrived at my car, I opened the door and got in,” Nevison explained to The Dodo. “The small cat leaped straight up in my lap while I was placing my handbag in the passenger seat!”

Stunned — and allergic — Nevison knew she had to do something to help the cat, even if she couldn’t take her home. “She just sat in my lap purring and nuzzling, and eventually climbed up on my shoulder,” Nevison said.

Nevison brought Freya to Salt Lake County Animal Services (SLCAS) to receive assistance for her left eye, which looked to be disturbing her, while she tapped her network of friends and acquaintances to see who might give this kindest cat the home she deserves.

Freya was given an exam at SLCAS by the personnel. The 1-year-old cat lacked a microchip and was most likely fending for herself on the streets. Surprisingly, her tough upbringing had little effect on how loving she was.

Freya is feeling a little lighter now that she has had surgery to remove her left eye, which was causing her problems and risking a major infection. And, despite the fact that her tale was widely read and shared when it was published in The Dodo on November 1, she is still looking for a home.

Freya is the type of cat who knows exactly what she wants and when she wants it, as seen by her rescue tale. And she appears to prefer humans to other cats. She’s been connecting with the shelter personnel while waiting for a future home, insisting on cuddling on laps.

“She’s really gorgeous,” SLCAS marketing and communications manager Callista Pearson told The Dodo.

Nothing, however, compares to a true family. We’re hoping she finds one soon.
