An eleven-day-old cat girl came at her new home hoping for someone to assist her in eating her full. The infant was born with a split lip and palate, making it difficult for her to suck on mother’s milk or a bottle neck.
Brea, a seasoned cat carer from New Jersey, adopted the kitten to give him a better shot at life.
New Life Animal Rescue, based in Marlton, New Jersey, assists dogs and cats with special needs. A specific woman contacted me regarding a cat and its dietary issues around a week ago.
Her family discovered a pregnant cat on the street, warmed her up, brought her inside the home, and assisted her in giving birth. One of the cubs stood out from the rest.
“They tried to bottle feed the baby, but the formula was flowing out of her nose all the time.” “She was emaciated and lagging far behind her brothers,” Brea recalls.
Brea spent the whole night on the road to pick up the kitten. She and her husband named her Xena, the warrior queen.
“The next day we got the diagnosis from the veterinarian: dehydration, aspiration pneumonia and underweight – only 110 g at the age of 11 days. As for her split lip and palate, the doctor can’t yet determine the seriousness of the situation, because Xena is so tiny,” explains Brea.
It was agreed to begin treatment with a low dose of antibiotics for pneumonia and to ensure that the young child drank enough of fluids.
Every three hours, at whatever time of day, Brea fed young Xena using a straw.
The kitten’s weight climbed by one-third in just two and a half days!
Her eyes opened, and her muscles began to tense up. She is now more powerful than ever.
“Xena loves to snuggle up to my elbow and snuggle up with her cuddly toy we call ‘backup mom’,” says Brea.
The tiny fluffy proudly displays his illustrious surname!
“She is now 24 days old and doing well.” It already weights 286g, more than double its initial weight. Xena is now teething.”
Brea describes her as “energetic, powerful, and certainly lives up to her military moniker.”
People do everything so that their pet lives full and happy life.
Sipping is the best way to wake up!
Our little girl is now healthy and energetic!
