Аll Is Not Lost: А Рreterm Сat Аbandoned Вy Нis Мother Finds Love Аnd Rescue

Everything was stacked against Hazil when she was born. The lone survival in her litter was a preterm little cat.

Despite the challenges, the baby was determined to live and grow.

Katerina of the CatRescue 901 rescue group in New South Wales, Australia, discovered about the fate of kittens born to an unneutered domestic cat more than a month ago.

“The owners missed something: the cat snuck out the door and returned pregnant,” Katerina explains. “The birth was preterm and painful, and two kittens died.”

The mother cat was under a lot of stress and didn’t want to nurse the kittens since she didn’t have any milk. Katerina went out with two infants with her. “We presented them to the veterinarian, who verified the fact that they were premature.” “The boy died just a few minutes after I got home.”

Hazel had lost her final sibling, but she was not about to lose up.

“She was quite little (79g) and frail. “I got up every 2 hours to feed her and scarcely slept from fear,” Katerina recalls.

At the age of several days, the baby had to fight infection of the umbilical wound. Katerina fed her around the clock and helped her gain strength.

In the weeks that followed, Katherine doubted more than once that Hazel would survive at all. It looked like the kitten had the fading syndrome, so it was necessary to seek the help of a veterinarian again. The baby really teetered on the brink of death but clung to life.

Hazel enjoyed cuddling with her foster parents during this time. With a quiet purr, she fell asleep in their arms.

“When I gaze at her, it warms my heart.” I feel happy tears as I see her cling to my young man, says Katerina. “We’ve been through a lot in the last several weeks, but the darling daughter has survived.”

After several doctor visits, countless hugs, kisses and sleepless nights, the kitten is on the mend.

“She pulled through with special care and our love. Now she’s a perky little sass,” Katerina adds.

Baby Hazel’s mother was spayed and vaccinated with the aid of CatRescue 901, indicating that this was her final birth.

Hazel thrives in the care of her carers and receives several embraces from her foster father!

The premature baby turned into a charming, energetic fluffy with strong charisma.

Hazel is 5 weeks old and is as cheerful as ever.

Her favorite activity is to wrap up in her foster mom’s lap and purr as her stomach is rubbed.

A lot can change in a few weeks!
