Daisy the cat dislikes humans since she was abandoned at a shelter twice before she was seven months old.
Daisy was brought to the RSPCA as a kitten, but she returned four weeks later.
She not only dislikes people, but she also did not get along with the other cats in either house, thus both sets of owners felt her to be too tough to live with.
Fortunately, Ruth Grice, a dairy farmer, chose to take her in.
Since then, Daisy has been adopted by Ruth’s heifers and even sleeps in the hay with them.
Ruth said: ‘She found a warm spot in the calf shed, and now she’s quite happy.
‘She’s settled in so well. We are so glad we adopted her.’
Ruth, who owns a farm in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, said they were aware of what they were getting into with Daisy and did not anticipate her wanting much contact with humans.
Daisy’s first meeting with the calves was quite nice, she added, as they smelled and greeted them other — they’re now great friends.
Daisy’s antisocial behaviors could have made her a difficult customer to find a new home if it hadn’t been for Ruth.
Ella Carpenter, manager of the RSPCA Radcliffe Animal Centre, stated, ‘Just as people have unique needs and personalities, so do cats.’
‘These cats come from a wide range of backgrounds.
‘They might have been badly socialized as small kittens and not had the necessary kinds of encounters with people.’
