Buffy, like many cats, will only accept attention if it is given to her on her terms. She’s a nice and loving person who enjoys spending time with her mother — but only on her pace. It’s yours and no one else’s.
Kate, Buffy’s mother, told The Dodo, “If you attempt to pet her, she’ll dart away and go sit somewhere on her own.” “However, once she decides she wants attention, she declares it loudly and transforms into the most cuddly cat ever.”
Buffy’s favorite time to attempt to catch her mother’s attention is while she is at work.
When the pandemic broke out and Kate had to work from home, Buffy knew she had to find a way to be a part of her mother’s work routine. She didn’t want to spend the entire day watching her mother work on her laptop. She desired something more active, and not long after, she discovered the ideal work for her.
“She normally sits with me for about 10 minutes a day in my desk chair until she decides she’s had enough and goes,” Kate explained. “However, she may occasionally climb up on my desk and stroll over or sit on my laptop keyboard.
Because I frequently use Microsoft Teams for business, she’ll type a long string of nonsense and then mistakenly press the ‘enter’ key, sending the incomprehensible message to my coworkers.”
Buffy is very proud of her involvement in her mom’s job — and all of Kate’s coworkers are pretty big fans of it, too.
“My coworkers find it amusing and always respond by laughing or sending her a message back,” Kate said.
Kate could probably find a method to prevent Buffy from hopping into her laptop and sending messages if she really wanted to. It’s not harmful to anyone, and it may even be a good way to increase company spirit.
“It’s amusing, and it makes my coworkers grin,” Kate added. “As long as she isn’t interfering with actual work, it’s innocent entertainment that could turn someone’s day around.” I’m sure I’d think it lovely if one of my coworkers’ animals sent me a note.”
Buffy clearly deserves to be named employee of the month. She’s well-deserving of it.
