Сat Gets Нer Оwn Little Rug So She Сan Рray With Нer Family

Tofu was rescued from the streets when she was just a few months old. The person who found her was unable to keep her, so Mohammad Fahmi decided to adopt her, and now she’s an incredibly important and loved member of the family.

“I persuaded my mother to keep Tofu,” Fahmi told The Dodo. “The whole family used to despise pets, but now they’re all crazy over Tofu.”

Tofu’s an incredibly curious cat who loves to be involved in whatever’s going on around her. She absolutely adores her whole family and wants to be around them all the time, no matter what they might be doing.

Normally, Fahmi’s dad goes to the mosque five times a day to pray, but due to the recent coronavirus pandemic, it’s been safer for him to stay at home. Instead, he and Fahmi have taken to praying at home together — and every single time, Tofu joins them.

“Tofu enjoys it when our family members congregate in one place,” Fahmi explained, “so whenever my father and I go to pray together, she joins us and just sits or disturbs us.”
Tofu loves rolling around on the prayer rugs while her family is trying to pray, so in an attempt to distract her they tried giving her her own smaller rug to hang out on — and most of the time, it totally works.

“Lately, she started to understand that the small rug is for her so she doesn’t disturb the others, that took a while,” Fahmi said. “That was a travel rug (adults use it only to cover the part where our face touches the ground), but we rarely use it anyway, might as well use it for Tofu.”

Tofu will always love gathering with her family as they pray. In her mind, it’s a time where they all get to be together, and that’s what matters most to her.
