As an apartment in St. Petersburg, Russia, burned down, firefighters tried to put out the blaze. When the environment was clouded by smoke, firefighters saw a cat that was choking on smoke and was trying to jump from the balcony.
Firefighters offered their oxygen to the cat and at all costs they tried to bring it back to life.
The photos of the cat being saved soon went viral on social media, earning them the name “internet heroes.”
Rina Vesennya, an online user, said, “Very touching!”
Alexey Alexandrovich went on to say: “More people like that are needed! People who are passionate about animals.”
There were almost 4,000 likes and 400 comments on the post.
Many others complimented the firefighters in the comments, calling them heroes and stating that the photos made them weep.
Later, the cat’s owner appeared in the comments section, saying: “I want to express my gratitude to the firefighters; you rescued more than a cat; you saved a part of our family.
“My entire family is grateful, particularly my three-year-old son, who loves the cat.”
“You are real heroes who demonstrated what humanity is all about. Life would be so much easier if at least half of us were like you.”
