Aggressive Cat Melts When She Gets To Know Her New Mom

When Sarah arrived at the shelter and saw Barbara the cat for the first time, she was told that this kitty was not an adoptable cat due to behavioural issues. But this didn’t deter Sarah, she felt she was up for the task.

She had no idea of the extent of Barbara’s problems but she was ready to commit to whatever it took.

When they first arrived at Sarah’s home Barbara hid and Sarah had a lot of trouble trying to approach her.

Then the tables turned and Barbara would chase her around the room in full attack mode, Sarah had to wear knee-high boots for protection.

Sarah was very patient and then little by little the wall in front of her would come down momentarily, that was when Sarah realized that there was something more inside Barbara that would eventually surface, she just had to reach it.

So she was given all the space she needed, and allowed her to adjust in her own time.

And then it happened, at about four in the morning, Sarah woke up and this once aggressive kitty was all over her and as Sarah says in her own words: “The rest was history!”

In fact, Barbara is now the complete opposite to what she was before she met Sarah, she demands attention and won’t leave her favorite human alone.

The two of them are really in tune with each other now and Sarah feels they have a great connection, somewhat like a mother and her daughter. It shows that there’s hope out there for all aggressive cats, they need time to adjust and feel safe in their new surroundings.

And as Sarah explained, it only took a month for her and Barbara to connect, every cat is different, even if it takes a year it’s well worth the effort.
