When Kendera White was out jogging one morning she saw something fall from the sky. She thought it looked like an animal and ran to the spot where it fell.
Imagine her surprise when she saw a tiny newborn kitten, still with his eyes closed, lying on the ground. There way no way she was leaving this baby behind, so she scooped the kitten up and put him in her sports bra.
Kendera thought the best thing to do was to take him to Matt Smith Vets in Chesterfield, UK, she knew they would take good care of him.
“I saw something drop through the air on my left and then I heard a really high-pitched meow. I’m a bit of a cat freak so I knew instantly that it was the sound of a kitten,” explained Kendera. “Then I saw this little grey thing on the floor, no bigger than a golf ball. I thought it’s got to have been a bird of prey and there’s no way I’m going to be able to find out where he came from.”
At the vet’s office, the little ball of fur drank a full bottle of milk. Unbelievably this tiny kitten was unharmed, he just had a few bruises. “It’s amazing how he escaped with no broken bones but when they’re little they’re very pliable. It was his lucky day!”
They named him named Sky and he is now living happily with four other week-old former stray kittens. “We called him Sky because that’s where he came from,” said Sue Crisp, the receptionist at the vets.
“He’s now got four brothers from another mother and it’s amazing, they’re chubbier than him and have their eyes open whereas his are still closed. He’s gorgeous and doing absolutely fine,” she added.
It looks as though Sky fell into the right hands, so to speak. We are happy that he is safe and well and sure he will easily find the forever home that he deserves.
