Kitten with Вirth Defects Сhooses Man and Finds Forever Нome

A little tabby kitten born with birth defects was brought to the Cats Protection’s Bridgend Adoption Centre in South Wales in the hope that he could have a better life.

Meet Arlo!

“Arlo is an absolute sweetheart, and he’s charmed all the staff here,” said Sue Dobbs, Manager of the center.

“He may look a bit different from other cats, but he’s got a lot of love to give, and is full of fun and mischief.”

The cause of his defects was hydrocephalus, which is a build-up of fluid in the brain and this had caused his head to be misshaped but after a thorough examination, Arlo was declared healthy.

Everyone at the center hoped they would be able to find him a good family. “Arlo is such a lovely cat and deserves a happy and loving home.”

Meanwhile Davy, who is a social worker for children with disabilities, had been thinking about getting a cat for sometime. “I live alone in a little rural cottage and thought it would be ideal for an older cat.”

“But my friends began to tag me in posts from Cats Protection, about this little cat with additional needs,” he explained. “They felt that I should at least visit him and see what I thought. So I looked, and it was Arlo.”

So Davy went to meet the little tabby who had just turned one year old. Arlo was a little shy and anxious around people, but when he met Davy, they immediately clicked.

“He approached and gave me a lick, and I took that as a sign that we made a match,” said Davy. “Just the first glance of him made me fall in love.”

Once in his new home, Davy’s lap quickly became his favorite spot. He may be a shy kitty but he’s a real cuddle-monster.

“He’s very shy and nervous still, and doesn’t like loud noises. But he’s so loving,” Davy says. “His personality is amazing. He’s such a character.”

A year down the line and Arlo has grown up to be a beautiful cat.

He enjoys his VIP life with Davy, in the home he so badly needed.
