Toomey’s mom, who lives in England, kept sending her son pictures of a random cat that kept showing up in her garden.
He visited often and would just hang about in the garden hoping they would throw him some food, this made them think that he must be a stray.
They gave hime a name, Boysie, and every time they opened the back door and called out his name he would come running from wherever he was.
They discovered that he wasn’t microchipped, so they had no idea how old he was or where he had been before he appeared in their lives.
Then one morning when Toomey called out for Boysie, he was nowhere to be seen. Toomey was worried about his new friend but his mom assured him that as he was a stray, he is sure to come back at some point.
So this gave Toomey the idea to build Boysie a little hut in the garden, something that was just for him and would make him feel at home.
Three days later there still there was no sign of the kitty and Toomey was getting really worried about him. But then they heard a noise at the back door and lo and behold there was Boysie.
The whole family was very pleased to see him and wondered where he had been.
It’s always very difficult to get a stray cat to be friendly towards you, you have to earn their trust.
But imagine how happy Toomey was when he went out into the garden one afternoon and saw Boysie sitting in his little hut.
That was it, Toomey really wanted Boysie in his life full time and set about to make this come about.
