Аfter Several Failed Аttempts Тo Еscape Sneaky Сat’s Рarents Рut Up А Sign

Hubert’s family saw straight away that he was spunky and lots of energy when they acquired him from a nearby shelter three months prior.

Hubert’s mother, Laci Reamer, said, “We often describe his demeanor as a cranky old guy who secretly loves and craves care.”

The 8-year-old cat settled into his new home right away — and made it known from the very beginning that he’s absolutely obsessed with trying to go outside.

Despite the fact that the shelter said he’d always been an indoor cat, Hubert has an intense fascination with the great outdoors, and even though he loves his new comfy life and his family so much, that hasn’t stopped him from trying to escape and go play outside every chance he gets.

He always attempts to get away, Reamer said. “He managed to get away from me once. Before he started up the walkway, we were unaware! How could you fail to notice a 31-pound cat slipping between your legs at the door? It’s true what you just read! He weighs 31 lbs. He’s overweight yet vivacious (and on a diet).

Hubert eventually got to the point where he tried to convince anybody who arrived to the door for the first time that he was permitted to walk outdoors, forcing his family to put up a notice.

“We designed the sign because he really does give people the ‘Please help me’ look with those wide eyes. There are things for me to see and do. Reamer remarked, “If you just open that door, I’ll glide right by you. We wanted to alert people to the fact that he is really skilled at begging. We don’t want him to get injured because we live on a busy street!

So far, the sign has worked wonders at keeping Hubert safely inside, and as a bonus, everyone who sees it gets a huge kick out of it.

“We get A LOT of comments on it,” Reamer said. “The UPS driver even knocked on our door to just tell us how much he loved it and made him laugh.”

Hubert’s elaborate escape plans are no longer effective as a result of the sign, but his family is working on a delightful surprise that will let him explore in a much more controlled manner to help him with his tremendous love of being outside.

To begin his epic outside adventures, we recently purchased him a collar and leash, Reamer stated. “I’m crossing my fingers things will go well,”
